Amid a backdrop of societal collapse and desperation bred from the climate crisis, Citizen Conflict unfolds its rich storyline. The early 2030s marked a pivotal time when the fragments of humanity congregated under a planetary government to salvage what was left of Terra. But not everyone could adapt to the enforced austerity of the “Common degrowth plan.” The result: a society torn apart, with some embracing the changes, while others rebelled, sparking warfare and chaos. And so, the Ether Islands emerged—a sanctuary for the exiled elites, the rebels, the ambitious; all those unwilling to relinquish their decadent past amidst global upheaval.
